Transformers Advance Showings Night of July 2nd |

If you don't like the Transformers release date, just wait five minutes and it might open even earlier...
 In the US, your favorite theatre should be showing Transformers beginning at 8 PM on Monday night, July 2nd, the night before the official nationwide July 3rd opening. The US release had already recently been moved up from July 4th do to enthusiastic response from fans, and perhaps the intrusion of Harry Potter's latest film installment, opening two days earlier on July 11th. Independence Day also opened early on the night of July 2nd. While the studios will use box office totals from the third of July to tally their opening day success, the early showings may not have a negative effect on the July 3rd gross. In fact, it may be a very good sign of how much confidence the studio has in the film, believing that eager fans will be lined up on the 3rd to see Transformers again. The July 2nd showings have been confirmed on Michael Bay's blog.
June 22 update: Today they gave us no "7-3-7" banners, but "7-2-7" banners in the Transformers Movie Webmaster program. So it feels a little strange to promote July 3rd as the opening day now.
