Transformers Animated launches in 2008 |

 The newest Transformers series for television will begin airing on cartoon Network as early as January 2008, according to a printed promo distrubuted at the Licensing International Expo 2007. The promotional material also reveals the style of the new Transformers animated characters, which is reminiscent of Genndy Tartakovsky cartoons like Samurai Jack and Clone Wars.
The show will begin airing as a Saturday morning cartoon on Cartoon Network in January 2008, before being broadcast five times a week in the Spring.
 Quoted from the promo: "Optimus Prime, Megatron, and a host of new characters will transform the airwaves next year as "Transformers Animated" joins the kid-friendly lineup at Cartoon Network. Hasbro and Cartoon Network will partner on the 2-D animated series, which offers a new twist on the original series with each of the 26 original episodes presented as a standalone storyline featuring everyday heroes who do good deeds that triumph over evil."
The series kicks off as a Saturday morning series in January 2008 before expanding to five times a week later in the year. A 90-minute special is also in the works. The show, co-produced by Cartoon Network Studios, will be supported on TV, "as well as through web-based initiatives, product-partnerships, and promotional partnerships," says Michael Verrecchia, director of marketing for "Transformers".

Boy, we can't wait to see "everyday heroes doing good deeds". What about featuring giant robots kicking ass? That can be a good deed too.
